The Pins and Needles team have worked really hard over the years to create work that has reached over 600,000 live audience members, engaged over 1000 artists and toured to cities across the UK, USA and Asia. We want to keep making work for you to enjoy and to provide opportunities for future generations of Bristol and UK artists.
Like so many theatre companies across the country, the pandemic delivered a hammer blow to our business. In March 2020, we lost nearly 100% of our income overnight. Though restrictions have now been lifted, COVID continues to impact our industry.
Despite the challenges, we have focused on creating new digital work, giving employment to as many freelancers as possible, nurturing emerging talent, and developing exciting live projects.
We are endlessly grateful to Arts Council England and to the DCMS for their support over the past two years but we are not out of the woods yet.
