A man with black quiff, huge sideburns and wearing a loud 70s shirt is talking to another man wearing a colourful Mariachi costume, aviator specs and sombrero.

SCOOP

Written by Bea Roberts

Back in the day, old-fashioned ladies’ man Ackerley Addaneye ruled the car parks of the Devonshire coastline with his ice cream van come mobile disco come hair salon. But in the summer of 1976, he inexplicably disappears to Mexico without so much as a goodbye.

Now Ackerley must face old flames, old rivals, an arthritic pelvis and a freezer containing a small confused Mariachi player. Featuring a large scoop of anarchy, a sprinkle of puppetry, and a good squeeze of Mariachi disco!

SCOOP was originally commissioned by Lyric Hammersmith in 2013. The show performed outdoors at Greenwich and Docklands International Festival, Watford Imagine, Lyric Theatre in the Square, Latitude and Leeds Festival.
